Stop and Smell the Flowers by KatieHofgard Stop and Smell the Flowers by KatieHofgard
Another by-the-hour commission for Rooth, this time of Rooth'Roo! He's somewhat of a big fella, but a gentle soul. I'm sure he tries to minimize damage. ;)

23 hours in Photoshop with an Intuos 3 tablet

I'm tickled that half of the comments are just all "Is that a Tardis?"

I so love this picture!  It's gonna be brilliant on my wall! ^_^

This is one of the most beautiful pieces of kangaroo anthro artwork I have ever seen, one of two that are so amazing and gorgeous it's nearly mindblowing. Thank you for doing something so phenomenal, this looks almost identical to what I had envisioned for a species in my science fiction setting.

If you'd like some insight into Rooth'roo's species, note me.  Might inspire something in your scifi work. :)

Thank you. :) Actually, I have a kangaroo-hominid species in my science fiction setting, which your "Rooth-roo" character's image, here, captures almost flawlessly. May even be a perfect representation of the visual, except I think I had made my kangaroo-humanoid species be slightly less fluffy. Admittedly not as cute as fluffy, but... :D

Excellent!  Rooth'roo's a little extra fluffy compared to a normal roo because he has some snowshoe hare design influence.  Not necessarily ancestry, but more like convergent evolution -- different species evolving similar traits in response to common environmental pressures.  In Rooth'roo's case, his species -- called snowshoeroos (invented by myself and Flinters) -- has lived in a snowy region for quite a long time, so they developed white fur, fluffier for insulation, and have begun losing the full pads on their feet and hands.  There are melting seasons, so having some pads is handy for traction when navigating rocky terrain, especially for larger creatures.  Much like their red kangaroo cousins, the males of his species never stop growing.  Rooth'roo is a bit of an exception in that regard, as he's been imbued with the power to grow (or shrink) as much as he wants. ;)  But were it not for that fantasy power, he'd be like the other males of his species, fairly large.  Large enough to defend against large predators, anyhow.

I used about a dozen references for the painting overall, but nothing specific for the pose! ^^

Like the overall lighting, although I think the sun should be still visible, otherwise the highlights don't make sense. The clouds look out of place too, as the seem to have a different light source - where the sun is still somewhere around o'clock.
