Some Full Body Badges by KatieHofgard Some Full Body Badges by KatieHofgard
And finally some full body badges I finished recently! Done in marker and touched up with some colored pencil and acrylic.

I will not be taking any more marker badges ever again, only finishing the ones already on my list. I've tried different brands of markers, and I'm unwilling to wear a mask in my own home, my cat has asthma and is also sensitive to the fumes, and I won't spend money on filtration systems or fans just for the sake of a medium I'm already rather tired of. I usually put my cat in the bedroom while I work on these.

what markers did you use? And would you consider doing badges with just colored pencils, because your coloring skills are phenomenal! :)

Also, do you have a tutorial in your gallery that describes how to go about drawing furries? I've done a few in my day, but I need to work out the fur aspect as well as paws and feet. I use animal references to get the look, but it doesn't really come out the way I want them to.

Thanks. Again, your art is great! :)

Have you ever tried Copic sketch markers? Of all the markers I have used, they are by far superior in control, and they are not alcohol-based, so they don't smell bad.

I can understand if you are tired of them though. Not everyone enjoys the same mediums. All the same, your marker and digital works are both beautiful, so I'll love whatever you do

I have not tried them, but I don't care to sadly. I am pretty darn tired of this medium and I'm very ready to stop using it.

Sucks that you can't work with (and are tired of!) markers anymore, you're really good with them. Not that you're BAD with other media, but you know what I mean! A lot of Prismacolor marker art I've seen is always very cel-shaded looking, but you manage to make things look blended, which is awesome. And I'm a big fan of the shiny metallic-looking nameplates! Hopefully working with other traditional tools is easier on you. :>

I could be wrong but it's been awhile since I've seen traditional work from you (if ever!). These look fantastic, I'm sorry you don't like working with markers :P

Its a shame prisma markers are so caustic. I don't blame you though. Those things made me incredibly dizzy in art class.

Oh ok thanks. I use prisma too but how do you make the colors look so smooth and not all rigid and unbalanced? Does it have to do with the strokes of the marker?

I avoid "streaks" by moving quickly, keeping "wet" edges" so to speak, and working in small sections rather than huge spaces at a time.
